wouldn't you know it? the week prior to the "big marathon" i've come down with a very mild cold. You know the kind: hard to wake up, get tired easily, feel good between like 11 am and 7pm, but otherwise feel sort of a "buzz" and a scratchy throat. your head feels just a bit stuffy.
Yesterday I opted not to run, but go to the gym instead. I ran for 30 minutes at 8 mph (7:30 miles - my secret goal race pace for next Sunday that would put me at 3:16) and felt ok. a little sore, but never breathing even a bit hard. I'm going to try, despite my little illness, to run 13 miles easy today to seagrove park and back REAL EASY and make a nice 2 hour playlist.
