My 48th birthday was a hot day in San Diego, and the half marathon was a bit slower than I think I could have done. We started a bit late (7:40) and by that time it was already warming up. The temperatures were in the high 60s at the start and mid-80s by the finish. The worse part was the wind. Matt Carlson described this as "running into a blow dryer".
